An evil ghost. A mystical warrior. Either way, her heart's in trouble.

Lorelei is searching for the truth. A witch, part Erysi, she needs to discover who the ghost terrorizing the city is, even if it is her grandmother, and stop that spirit before anyone else gets hurt. The treachery she uncovers goes deeper than she ever imagined and leads her to a gorgeous, arrogant, muscled, Erysi warrior who makes her burn with desire.

Quintus needs to get back to his mission after being encased in a spell for years. Helping sexy witch, Lorelei, might help him get that back on track, because her grandmother was probably deeply involved in every part of it. Every time they're together, it's hard to keep his mind on the hunt and off her sweet body. The attraction between them burns out of control.

Lorelei and Quintus' hunt leads them to a plot that could rip apart the lives of innocents. They must work together if they hope to stop the dangerous scheme. Even as she fights at his side, she falls for him. With so much danger around them, she can't risk love or weakness. Maybe after they finish the fight, they can claim the love building between them.

Excerpt – PG 13

Lorelei lifted her hand. A surge rushed through her, the energy rising. It flowed from her palm. Pastel, gold, and silver with streaks of black swirled around the tree.
The construct of the tree flickered once and then disappeared. She lowered her hand.
A blond haired man stood in its place. He swayed and dropped to the ground in a boneless heap. What the fuck?
Lorelei knelt beside the man. He scrambled back. Branches on a bush cracked as he backed onto it. He managed one more awkward crab walk backward before he collapsed to the ground.
His jeans and blue shirt could have come from anytime in the last twenty years, but the gold and silver energy crackling around him like sparks, that was all Erysi. Wide-eyed and dragging in ragged breaths, he gaped at her. Shit, I scared him.
Lorelei raised her hands. “I’m not here to harm you. We found a missive with the news that you’d disappeared. We thought you might be in this area if the one we suspected did it. You’re safe. No one will hurt you.”
“Not scared.” The man scowled at her. “The last things I remember are being hit with a spell from behind and the cackle of that old witch. I’m on guard. The others. You need to find the others.”
“Normal people call that scared.” Lorelei shook her head. Why wasn’t he getting up? “We know who did it. She’s dead, but unfortunately not gone. How many men came with you? We have three pinpointed. We need to know when to stop looking.”
“Six aside from me.” The man levered up, but collapsed onto his back.
So weak. Had he tried to strike out, sending a massive burst of power out right before Mémère caught him?
“You stay there. I’ll come back for you once we find the other four.” Lorelei glanced at the path and then back to him. The others need to be freed, but will he wander off?
Lorelei shook her head. He’s free and hopefully not an idiot. She eased down the path. The pulse of magic eased.
Let’s see if I can actually find one without touching every damn plant near me. I’ll be lucky if I come out of this without a rash all over my body. She closed her eyes and extended her hands over some plants. Tingles ran over her skin and the hair on her arms stood up. There’s one.
She stepped closer and let her magic free. Silver, gold, pastel, and hints of black flowed over the large plant. The illusion disappeared and the black-haired man fell to the ground. Damn, they’re all weak as babes.
“It’s all right. We’re here to help.” She dug her toe into the dirt. Better not to move forward and freak him out like she had that last man.
The man clawed at the dark, moist earth dragging his body about a foot, before he flopped onto his face. She blew out a breath. What the hell happened to them?
The flare of one more active spot pulled her away. Magic poured from her palms and swirled over the outside of the tree. Pale pink and purple with streaks of black drifted through the silver and gold, countering the spell.
The swirling magic flickered and disappeared. A black-haired man slumped to the ground and rolled onto his back. His hand lifted, but slapped back onto the dirt. He stared through half-closed eyes. Exhausted, but the man was gorgeous. He might be weak, but damn, he filled out that white shirt.

Rath’s head lowered and his lips brushed over hers. He nibbled. His teeth grazed over the curve. Prickles danced behind that light touch. He sucked. Each pull tempted and coaxed. The attraction was irresistible. Her mouth opened.
His tongue stroked, tangling, mating. A spicy warmth filled her. Her hands slid over his shoulders. She leaned into him, hungry for more of that addictive essence. His arms tightened. Hard sinew pressed against her from breast to hip. Her fingers flexed. He was all muscle.
His fingers cupped the back of her head, an undeniable claim. The kiss deepened and towed her under like the current in the Kennet. Did all dragons kiss this good?
His lips slid away, skimmed across her cheek, and down her neck. She moaned. Vellos, not yet. He inhaled deeply and a shiver rolled through his large frame.
“I can’t wait any longer for you, Keira. Let’s go to bed.” He nibbled at her neck.
His voice rumbled and rippled through her. By the Lady, that gravelly sound. Heat curled low in her stomach.
He scooped her into his arms. Her stomach lurched and her head spun. She gasped. Lady, a little warning would have helped. Her nails dug into his shoulders. She clung to him. Her heart thudded against her chest.
A few long strides carried them to the bed. He placed her on the mattress. A lump formed in her throat. If she said something now, he might back away, but the heated swirl of desire burned away any words. He knelt. Yellow-gold eyes fixed on her.
“Are you only going to look?” She licked her lips.
“No, but you’re so sexy that I can’t miss this opportunity.” His fingers trailed over her arm.
A shiver ripped up her spine. His eyes roamed downward. Hunger burned in his gaze. Those slitted orbs locked on her breasts. Her nipples hardened under the scrutiny, thrusting up as if demanding attention. A wide smile spread across his lips. Four very prominent canines peeked out.
She tensed. Her heart slammed against her chest. A cold weight settled over her. Her throat tightened and she struggled for each breath. She clenched her hands. Calm down.
Those teeth… How could she have forgotten? This wasn’t just a wizard she was playing with tonight. She’d invited a fully grown, likely very powerful, dragon into her bed. She gulped.
“It’s just a natural response to being with a beautiful woman. I can control the urge to bite.” His hands stroked over her in slow, soft sweeps.
The caresses swept down her ribs and over her hips. She slowly relaxed beneath his hands.
Rath’s head dipped. He dropped kisses on her shoulder. Heat flickered over her skin as if he left a bit of flame everywhere he touched. She shivered and smoothed her fingers over his shoulders. His mouth glided down to the small mounds of her breasts. A thrill pulsed through her and her stomach muscles tightened. Would he nip or lick and suck?
A kiss dropped into the slight valley between her breasts. He nuzzled and licked. Flaring prickles raced over her skin. Her nipples hardened and ached.
His tongue lapped and glided up the gentle slope of one breast, lashing the tight, puckered tip repeatedly. Electric tingles danced over her skin along with a slow spread of warmth. She wriggled and her leg fell outward.
He grazed the nipple with his teeth. A sharp twinge shot through her. She gasped. A low laugh rumbled against her breast.
“Such beautiful red nipples.” His hot breath fanned over the sensitive, aching crest.
A dagger of sensation shot straight to her pussy. Keira closed her eyes. The walls of her channel clenched and warm, slick moisture seeped onto her thighs. His mouth closed over the darkened nipple. Hot liquid surrounded the flesh. Sparks lanced straight to her core.
He plucked at the hard tip of the neglected breast. She arched. The simmering fever rushed over her, drawing her deeper with every touch. So good. He rolled and tugged the needy peak between calloused fingers. A sharp thrill of need speared through her. She writhed beneath his touch.
“More. I want to feel more.” She licked her lips.
He lifted his mouth. She clutched at his head, trying to urge him back. This wasn’t the time to be playing.

He eased to the side, dropping kisses and nipping her soft flesh. Prickles raced over her skin. She clenched her hands and lifted. His lips fastened onto her other nipple. He licked and lapped at the red tip. She cupped the back of his neck. Her stomach tightened and an ache throbbed through her. Oh Lady, he’d settled in to feast.

Excerpt - Heat Level PG13
Archer hooked an arm around Leslie as he walked her out of the Wild Beat.
The girls’ night had finally broken up, and the others started to go home.
They’d finally been able to coax their mate out of the bar. Not that the night had been bad.
Talking with Jason and Tony had been great, and dancing with Leslie had made his evening.
During the night, her muscles had relaxed, and now a soft smile curved his mate’s mouth.
The time with her friends and telling them everything she’d been keeping to herself had lifted a weight off her.

Apparently, it had been quite a night. The women had laughed and drank. None of them came away drunk,
but the liquor had relaxed them. They’d also stayed much longer than he expected.
Other people slowly made their way across the parking lot, as well. Cars started and pulled out.
People piled into taxis, and the vehicles pulled out of the parking lot. His gaze moved over anyone
close to them. Probably a little paranoia, but she was too important to risk.
They stepped into the shadows between the wide circle from the parking lot lights. His muscles tensed,
and his heartbeat pounded. When they stepped out into the glowing light, he rolled his shoulders. Get control.
They strolled across the parking lot. The low hum of a motor broke the near silence. Archer turned his head.
No bright lights flared, not even the red glow of the brake lights.
“How about we stop for some ice cream on the way home?” Leslie tugged at his hand.
“Sounds good. It will have to be a store. I’m pretty sure that all the restaurants and shops are closed by now.”
Judge glanced back at her.
She grinned. “A little carton or two of ice cream suits me.”
“We can get you a couple of those and me the ingredients for a jumbo banana split.”
Judge aimed for their car.
Archer mouth watered. Bananas, chocolate, strawberries, and nuts. Yum.
He nodded. Maybe they could alter the plans a little. Smearing some of the ingredients from that
sweet treat on Leslie and licking it off her might make it even better.
She’d go wild as they cleaned fudge off her with their mouths. Hell, he might leave the ice cream
at the store and simply get the fudge, whip cream, and bananas. The creamy whipped topping, sweet fruit,
and thick fudge would taste even better with the salty tang of her skin. Driving her wild and feeding his
sweet tooth at the same time, such a wonderful combination.
A motor revved. The rumbling sound broke the night. He glanced around and behind them,
but nothing moved, and no lights came on.
“What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream, Leslie?” He leaned close to her.
The motor roared again. He glanced behind them. The car was somewhere there. Hair stood on the
back of Archer’s neck. Something was wrong.
Tires squealed as they fought for purchase on the asphalt. Fuck. Not good.
“It’s called Double Chocolate Sin and Crunch. It’s chocolate ice crea—” Leslie squeaked. Her voice cut off.
Archer’s arm tightened, and he wrenched her to the side.
